What your donation pays for
$25 pays for 150 bricks
$50 pays for transportation of materials up the mountain
$100 pays for part of the roofing
$500 buys steel reinforcement rods
$750 pays for architecture and engineering oversight
$1000 buys cement for the foundation
$6000 pays for a house for one family
With generous donations of nearly $114,000, we are completed the first five houses in Rainaskot and have begun work on a second set of houses. Our goal is to complete the 14 houses and 3 community buildings by the Gurung celebration of the New Year on January 1st 2017.
After Rainaskot, we will be taking what we have learned and working village by village to rebuild homes in areas around Nepal.
When you donate to our project in Rainaskot, your donation will be matched to a specific family. Your name will be marked in the village. Houses that are funded by a team of people or a group will have a marble marker on the home, noting their donation.
Each house has a designated guest room and when you come to visit Nepal (which we very much hope you plan to do), you can be the guest of the family that your donation has helped.
