The Covid Crisis in Nepal
Just a couple of months ago, we thought Nepal would be spared the impact of the pandemic. However, like India, it has seen an exponential increase in cases over the last couple of weeks, pushing it into a crisis that has the potential to be more severe than the 2015 earthquake.

Our Partner for Covid relief
The Pratiman-Neema Foundation has a strong presence in Province 5, which is in the west of the country, near the Indian border. Since the start of the pandemic, they have been engaged in programs to prepare health care workers with training, and they have turned over their building near the Indian border to be used for quarantine.
Project HOPE has recently partnered with PNMF to provide supplies for all of the hospitals in Province 5, which will go a long way in helping people in this region of Nepal.

Siyari RuralMunicipality
Sangsangai funding priorities:
PNMF has been in constant contact with local government and health officials and other community leaders on the ground and have come to us with a specific request for support of 3 isolations centers for Covid patients in Province 5. One each in Rohini, Suddhodham and Siyari. Your donations will help PNMF support 3 isolation centers in the region, which are running, but need financial support for the following:
PPE for Medical Workers
Oxygen Concentrators
suPPORT FOR mEDICAL wORKERS AND PATIENTS INCLUDING foOD
Oxygen Canisters
Funeral expenses
Funeral expenses in the region have increased as much as 10x the normal cost. Local officials have advised us that they are receiving many requests for funeral expense assistance, and funds will help defray the costs of last rites for the families of Covid victims.
Our Funding Goal: $25,000*
These funds provide the isolation centers the funds they need to care for the patients and save lives in Nepal.
*PNMF has the capacity to expand their services if we raise more than $25,000.
UPDATE: We were able to send roughly half of our $25,000 goal to Nepal already. PNMF provided us with the pictures below of their COvid relief supplies being distributed to these rural areas of Nepal. We want to reach the goal of sending another $12,500 before the end of July to help the local health workers care for Covid patients throughout the next few months.
